Over Power the Power of Munchies

Here it comes again, that craving. I hear that symphony bar calling my name. Those sweet wonderful bacon strips smell filling your nostrils with their grand aroma. Here are some secrets.

DRINK WATER!!! Your body has a very weak thirst sense. It can be interpreted as hunger, fatigue, or simply the munchies (which is different from hunger in the sense you are not hungry, just want some food in your mouth). If you do not like water try flavoring with a low calorie, low sugar taste enhancer. Before you go for that last symphony bar get two glasses of water and wait a little while for that weak thirst center to ring "you are no longer thirsty". If you are still hungry, well then you probably are.

Another way to beat the hunger is to keep your schedule normal. Breakfast is at 6 a.m., snack at 9, lunch at noon, snack at 3, dinner at 6 and then bed. Stick to this and cravings will disappear.

The ultimate kicker of your bodies hunger strike is to count those calories. There are free apps that help you keep track of your calorie intake so you don't have to make it a difficult ordeal. This will help you choose what you can snack on and keep those portions low.

Best of luck!
