Motivate Not Alone

Struggling with motivation? Here is an easy way to get over that. First of all, figure out how you like to workout. Do you like to work out alone, with a small group, in a big group, or in a club? The smaller the group the more accountable you will be because the group will encourage you more. The larger the group the less accountable you will be since it is difficult for the instructor or leader does not necessarily care for the individual as much as the many.
It is also important to know your needs. If you are injured going into a big group is not a good idea since you can not get the attention to help strengthen that injury or work around the injury. If you are not motivated at all a smaller group will give you more. If you just need someone to challenge you and push you a bit further join a club or a large group.

Not sure what you need? Ask your local health club if they offer assessments or a free consultation. They are there to help you, as much as you want to think they are just selling you stuff, and honestly they want to make you better and stronger.

Have any questions or need help? E-mail me call me! I am more than happy to give a free consultation over the phone.

One thing I would say is to first find an activity you enjoy doing and then go from there. If you like soccer play soccer. If you find you really enjoy it and want to be more competitive then you can start doing extra work to increase your fitness level so you'll perform better (you'll also have a great starting point from which to help create goals).

Coming from a background where I was never much into sports and was always more into computers and video games, fitness is something I struggle with from time to time. If you're like me I'd say start by finding an [active] activity that interests you. Once you've found one, just start doing it. As you get into it more and more you'll probably find that your current fitness level is holding you back, in which case you need to start doing supplemental exercises. Doing it that way will help you establish an idea of what you need to work on as well as a motivation to actually do it.
