Note I drew a 3 inch circle and a 2 inch circle and made them smaller to fit my blog, but honestly that is the difference. |

Smaller Plate, Smaller Meal
The average size dinner plate is actually 10 inches. That is two inches less than a ruler and a little smaller than your fore arm (unless you are a gorilla or fun sized). All in all, that is actually pretty big. Now let's be honest here, how many of you fill those plates to the rim? I know I did and still do but I have a trick. The trick is, getting smaller plates. Smaller plates means you can only get so much food.
The average size lunch plate is 9 inches. "Well, one inch does not make that big of a difference." According to my little drawings, it actually makes a huge difference. The orange is a smaller scale of 9 inches, and the blue is exactly one inch in diameter bigger. You are putting that much more food in your mouth. So, buy smaller plates and bowls next time you break all your dishes. (If you are anything like me and my sisters that will be within the next year).
